What people are saying about us

aspas

I’ve been doing karate for 5 years now. It’s helped me with my confidence and strength and it’s taught me that if you work hard you can do anything and be the best that you can be. There are so many inspiring people who I train with and it’s like being part of another family.

My name is Cedric. I have been doing karate in this dojo for 5 years. What I really like in this dojo is the consistency. Also, we do some strengthening exercises which I really like. In the same time it helps to push our "comfort zone" further and it helps for school. The teacher (Sei Shihan Brandt) is very nice. He really helps us have a good spirit. This year, I will go to Poland for a karate tournament and I hope I will keep a very good memory of it.

When you join a karate dojo, a possibility arises that you will be a part of it for very many years, that your children will grow up in it, and that your spouse will come to many a tournament or social, and maybe even capitulate and join too. It is therefore paramount to choose the right one. Sei Shihan Brandt is an extraordinarily teacher and leader: wise, experienced, generous with encouragement and never giving praise that’s not earned. As a mother of two young adult black belts and a brown belt myself, I can attest to the fact that Seido London Shibu gives you much more than martial skills.

Seido London Shibu has had an enormous effect on our family. We brought them a slightly awkward 6 year old with focus problems. He’s become a committed 10 year old confident in himself and his abilities. Sei Shihan and his team attract great kids and help them find the best version of themselves. After watching my son train for a year at Seido London Shibu, I decided to join myself. What started as a simple opportunity to get some exercise became a chance to join an exceptionally diverse community of exceptional people. When we left London, the dojo was the place we missed the most.

Thank you for the effort, time and commitment, you give the club. I hugely appreciate the way you both teach, motivate and encourage. I see your teaching changing how we, children and adults, approach our lives Learning Karate with my teenage son is wonderful. We’re in different classes, but we have something in common to discuss and do together. My top tip to all parents whose children do karate, join too! Karate has helped my son to focus and take pride in his achievements, and we love being part of such a diverse, supportive and fun community.

My kids and I train at Seido London Shibu. I have always found the instructors to be incredibly friendly, approachable and always encourage you to get the best out of yourself. This carries throughout the whole of the organisation and when I visit the other Dojo around the world , I receive the same comfort and inspiration. I would highly recommend Seido London Shibu to anyone of any age.”

My 2 boys have been doing karate classes here for over a year now. I am amazed at how much progress they have made. The instructors are excellent and there is a real family atmosphere and a sense of community. My 5 year old daughter and I have also recently joined. We all love our classes and it's great value for money!!

I trained at the Seido London Shibu from February 2016 until I moved out of London in the summer of 2018. I am very happy to say that the Dojo was the best thing I experienced in London. Sei Shihan Brandt, Jun Shihan Tina and the Senpais run the classes in the most wonderful way that will push your limits, make you feel part of a community and will provide you with amazing skills. Not only karate and self-defence skills but also important life skills. You will learn to be confident but humble, strong but gentle and empathetic… I used these skills in day to day life and I do believe that without the two years spent at the Dojo I would not have achieved all the things that I have done in my personal and work life so far. I miss the Dojo and miss the friends I made; they will be in my heart forever. I have not found a place to train like that since, and trust me, I tried hard! If you are in London and want to be part of something exceptional then the Seido London Shibu is the place for you.

Much like other adults, I started training in Seido London Shibu because of my kids, and now karate has become a deeply important part of my life. I have seen my balance, mobility and strength improve in surprising and unexpected ways. The classes are technical, challenging and incredibly engaging. I feel very lucky to have an activity I get to share with my children every week.

Since they joined Seido London Shibu five years ago, I have witnessed my children step out of their shell and start enjoying physical exercise. They have found that they are resilient people who often surprise us with their mental and physical strength, with their balance and ability to generalise lessons learned in training into broader concepts they can apply in their lives outside the dojo. Most of all, we have found a diverse community which is actively invested in each other's training and well being. I would highly recommend Seido London Shibu to any parent.

I just want to say a massive thank you to our great instructor Jun Shihan Tina, for organising a women’s class. We train twice a week, and each class our female teachers are always dedicated, they push us to the limit. I joined this class almost 4 years ago, it’s a great team. I have seen a fantastic improvement in my training and fitness, because we are very comfortable and more relaxed training with ladies only. For those of you who are looking to start a Martial Art not with mixed class , then I would certainly recommend Seido London Shibu.

When I joined in 2018, it was to discover a stronger version of me, find something I was passionate about and to gain confidence. I would say that not only have I achieved those goals and am striving even further with them but, I have also gained far more from being part of the Seido London Shibu than I could have expected. The 3 words that come to mind instantly when I think about our dojo are; Family, Passion and Growth. There isn't a person in our dojo who you can't learn something from, there isn't anyone who wouldn't celebrate your success and there isn't a single person who doesn't leave each session improved or on their way to improvement. Our dojo taught me that, Karate is far more than the reward of a new belt, it's the pride and confidence you gain from the effort and time you put towards falling in love with the martial art, it is the praise and respect you receive and are given for your hard work and it is the knowledge that what you learn and what you teach has the ability to better you and the people around you.

My son and I started to attend Seido London Shibu four years ago. Since then we feel as we are a part of one big family. The atmosphere in classes is uniquely warm and uplifting but professional and disciplined. It has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of this community and I can not thank enough, all the staff and members.

I absolutely love coming to the woman's only class at karate. It provides a safe place to learn. Karate is often very challenging for me to master, but I continue to go back weekly because of the support and trust I have in the teaching offered. I find the woman's only environment empowering as the emphasis is on encouragement and support. I am also proud to be part of such a strong group of women.

Initially I came to Seido London to bring my son to do Karate and then I joined and stayed because of the people and community. The teaching is great and I have got so much out of joining such an engaging and active Dojo.

I wanted to get back to karate for a long time and joining this dojo was the best way to do it. Everyone (teachers and fellow students) has been so helpful and welcoming and now I feel part of this dojo. The women's classes are amazing, full of great women of all ages and origins, and I think this has been one of the most important factors that made me feel at home in this dojo. Additionally, the effort put in the online classes (taking place during quarantine) is outstanding - these classes have really helped me through these times.

The dojo is a great place! A warm welcome and a friendly face has always captivated me. It’s family friendly and I truly consider Seido London Shibu, my second family. The dojo is a place I trust and know that my ability of discipline and calmness is valued.

Karate has been a really good time and it is very beneficial for the body. Not only is it about self defense but it is about learning too. I like going to karate because it is welcoming and it is easy to make friends. All the teachers are kind and rewarding.

Karate has been a part of my life for the past 5 years from when my son Nathaniel started at age 5. I decided to start karate in January 2018 on a whim, as I never thought I would like it, but it turned out I really enjoy it. My daughter started a year later and my other half joined in January 2020, which is great that we're doing something as a family! The dojo is a great place to be in as it has such a good community feeling. Sei Shihan Brandt, Kyoshi Tina and all the Senpai's are great teachers. They show and give good discipline as well as encouragement and are respectful to all that attend.
